Whether contemporary or traditional, top designers transform bathrooms with creative tile displays, sleek fixtures and colorful palettes.

Pretty scenery isn't restricted to views out the big picture windows. A freestanding vintage-style tub is set against a wall of sea-blue glass tile and presides over by a large resin oyster overflowing with orchids.

A dark-stained vanity, placed between double sinks, is the only piece of furniture in this efficient master bathroom. Minimal furnishings and exposed plumbing make this narrow area seem more open, allowing every inch of the space to be functional. Design by Lori Gilder.
