Customer, Deanna, requested their tub be replaced with a walk-in shower to modernize a seasonal-use bathroom in a 90-year-old home while maintaining its traditional charm. Initial plans called for a pony-wall enclosure and a minimalist blue-and-white theme, but final selections shifted to a full three-wall shower clad in flowing teal-and-gray stone-look composite panels that run to the ceiling. The wet zone now uses a low-threshold 60 × 32-inch base with a matching integrated curb. A square chrome rain head is paired with a separate handheld on a hose; both are controlled by a flush-mounted square mixing valve on the entry wall. Storage is handled by a tall two-tier recessed niche framed to match the panels. Safety features include an 18-inch diagonal grab bar beside the teak fold-down seat and a trio of chrome robe hooks on the return wall. A dark wood-tone vinyl plank strip bridges the shower curb to the original diamond-pattern ceramic tile floor, preserving the room’s older footprint without new grout.
