The new walk-in shower features a white stone-look wall system with subtle grey veining that runs to the ceiling. A built-in recessed niche was added in place of the original soap dish and wall-mounted organizers. A single corner shelf and a small bench-style corner seat were installed in structurally reinforced areas. Brushed nickel metal finishes were chosen for all new components including the handlebar-style grab bar mounted on the shower door. A detachable wand showerhead offers improved usability for various height needs. Existing toilet and surrounding walls remained unchanged.
Jackson Graham of Five Star Bath Solutions recommended the SmartChoice package for its long-term durability and ease of maintenance. This package includes a six-layer composite wall system made from virgin PVC, finished with high-resolution digital stone imaging and antimicrobial coatings. Unlike tile or fiberglass surrounds, the SmartChoice system is fully grout-free and resistant to staining and discoloration. The new nano-textured base is non-slip and reinforced for safety. All plumbing was updated during the remodel, including a new P-trap and repositioned drain line.
Installation involved full tear-out to the studs, correction of wall framing, replacement of plumbing, and installation of cement-coated waterproof backer board behind all panels. The custom shower configuration was digitally measured and cut to fit on-site. Placement of fixtures and accessories was reviewed with the homeowner prior to installation. Clear semi-frameless bypass doors were selected for easy cleaning and accessibility, offering better light entry compared to the original frosted glass doors.
All work was completed by Five Star’s in-house certified installers. The project was finished within two days, following the standard company process of demolition on day one and final placement and sealing on day two. Final flooring and adjacent wall finishes were not part of the scope, though the team ensured smooth transitions between new and existing finishes.
The project is covered under a fully transferable lifetime warranty, including labor, product parts, and all workmanship. The tempered glass shower doors are covered under a separate one-year glass warranty. Jackson highlighted the company’s guarantees including Best Value, No Surprise Promise, Certified Craftsman, and Property Protection.
