Customer, Kathy, requested removal of the difficult-to-use tub to create an accessible walk-in shower that would ease bathing after long periods in a wheelchair. In the completed one-day installation, the alcove is now enclosed by a clear barn-door sliding glass system with brushed-nickel hardware and dual horizontal towel/assist bars. Inside, white-and-gray marble-look Smart Choice antimicrobial composite wall panels rise to the ceiling and wrap around the former window opening. A slip-resistant square-tile shower base meets three stacked triangular corner shelves on the control wall for ample storage. A detachable handheld showerhead with coordinating valve trim is mounted high on the right, and a diagonal brushed-nickel grab bar spans the back wall for added stability, meeting the customer’s accessibility needs without adding a bench.
