Customer, Collen, requested that the three-piece tub surround be converted into an accessible walk-in shower for long-term use as they age. In the two-day installation, the alcove was transformed into a barn-door–style shower enclosed by clear sliding glass panels with brushed-nickel rollers and handles. Inside, white-and-gray marble-look composite wall panels extend to the ceiling and wrap beneath the existing window. A matching low-threshold shower base with slip-resistant square-tile texture sits below a triangular corner bench on the left. Three triangular corner shelves on the control wall provide storage, and a vertical brushed-nickel grab bar at center offers support. A brushed-nickel handheld showerhead with coordinating valve trim completes the setup while keeping the layout open and easy to clean.
