The finished space now features a custom low-threshold shower with continuous wall-to-ceiling coverage and a color-matched ceiling panel. Solid composite wall panels in a green-gray stone style replaced the deteriorating surface and provide a grout-free, seamless layout. Matching composite corner shelves were installed for convenience, while a recessed niche and fold-down teak bench—originally referenced in the review—were not included in the final result. The upgraded Delta handheld shower system includes brushed nickel trim, magnetic mount, and a multi-function spray. Two grab bars were installed: one vertical near the entry, and one horizontal across the rear wall. The glass door was removed in favor of an open-entry configuration without enclosure.
Stacy Drake, the Five Star Bath Solutions representative, introduced the company’s waterproof virgin PVC composite panels paired with hydro block backer board and marine-grade adhesives. She explained how this layered system provides full mold resistance and stability over time. Brushed nickel hardware was selected based on the customer’s request for spot resistance and neutral design. Stacy also reviewed a range of available upgrades including rain glass doors, teak seating, recessed niches, and additional shelving. A SimTile option was presented but ultimately not chosen for this remodel.
The installation followed the standard protocol of full demo to studs, inspection of substrate, and installation of new plumbing and shower pan. Structural damage was addressed prior to installing the wall system and securing each fixture to solid backing. Corner shelf positioning and grab bar alignment were finalized during pre-install walkthrough. The renovation was completed in one day, with an overnight setting period for adhesives and caulk to cure fully.
Five Star Bath Solutions provided a fully transferable lifetime warranty on both product and labor. This includes commercial-grade Delta plumbing components and all composite panels. The final design incorporated easy-clean features with low-maintenance materials, no grout lines, and a precision-fit shower pan. All debris was removed by the team without use of a dumpster. No bench or pivot door was installed in this project despite their mention in the original planning.
