The final design removed the drop-in tub and surrounding deck, replacing it with a full walk-in shower using a three-wall composite system. The walls feature a natural stone-look matte finish in a brown-gray granite pattern. A sliding bypass glass door with a frameless upper track maintains visual openness. Two integrated corner shelves provide discreet product storage, and a standard handheld showerhead system was installed for flexible use. The look prioritizes clarity and cleanliness while complementing the existing beige-yellow wall color and luxury vinyl flooring.

The representative recommended Five Star’s Smart Choice composite wall system, which includes a six-layer PVC structure with embedded antimicrobial protection. The matte surface mimics natural stone while avoiding grout lines and mold concerns common with tile. The Performance package option with a simulated tile layout was also offered. The Smart Choice system was ultimately selected for its thickness, realism, and warranty coverage.

Installation included full demolition to the slab, with framing and plumbing updates as needed. A proprietary waterproof backer board was installed along with new PEX lines and a low-profile slip-resistant shower pan centered for drainage. The wall system was sealed using silicone at all seams to avoid caulk deterioration. A window remained in the space, trimmed cleanly into the wall panel for moisture control. A matching LVP floor was installed throughout the bath, laid directly over the previous floor to save labor.

Five Star Bath Solutions provided a transferable lifetime warranty for the Smart Choice system covering material, labor, and service visits. A 77% installation discount was applied, along with additional savings for review participation and flexible scheduling. Final project cost was $11,000, paid in full, which included floor installation and upgraded waterproofing.
