Andrew Davidson of Five Star Bath Solutions recommended the Smart Choice PVC composite system. He explained its antimicrobial, scratch-resistant construction, with a six-layer surface bonded to a waterproof backer board. The material uses 8K printed textures for a realistic look and outperforms traditional acrylic or fiberglass units in durability and cleanliness. Andrew emphasized the long-term ease of maintenance, eliminating grout or caulk issues common in tiled enclosures.
The remodel began with full demo down to the studs. All plumbing was updated and inspected before installing the new system. The brushed nickel Delta handheld showerhead was paired with antimicrobial marine-grade sealants at all seams. The teak bench and grab bar were both secured into studs for long-term strength. The custom bypass glass enclosure was installed after laser measurement, matching the wall layout and allowing easy access. Andrew noted the local installation team handled all construction without subcontractors.
