The grout-free material provides the appearance of subway tile without the maintenance associated with traditional grout lines. Installation included protection of the surrounding space, removal of the original bathtub and molded surround, inspection and treatment of concealed moisture damage when necessary, plumbing updates, waterproof backer installation, and placement of custom-cut wall panels. The finished shower includes a solid white base, matte black shower controls and overhead fixture, a black-framed sliding glass enclosure, horizontal safety grab bars, a recessed wall niche, and coordinating corner shelves. Gray tile flooring completed the bathroom refresh. Most wet-area installation work was planned for rapid completion, with final glass installation scheduled after finished measurements.
